Introduction

My major is Naturopathic medicine. Why not modern medicine?  The industry for modern medicine has a large foundation with a lot of opportunity, jobs and money.  The practice of modern medicine saves lives everyday.  I think our medical system sounds great!  Naturopathic medicine has always been a part of God’s green earth.  Think of survival before industrialized medicine, and GMO food. The resources were living the, greens, seeds, grain, and animals. In this day and age, Mc Donald’s, Burger king, Wendy’s drive through is convenient for the busy person, however, it’s a lazy choice. This is why American’s are humongous! Not a proper diet, not enough exercise! Hippocrates a Greek philosopher quotes,  “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”  Longevity is generally referred as high life expectancy. That’s what I strive for!  I’m exited to write and share what I have learned.

  1. You'll have to educate me this semester, and maybe it's just an issue of semantics, but aren't naturopathic physicians part of modern medicine? They might not be as quick to prescribe medications, but they do practice, from what I read, in 17 states and DC (See http://www.naturopathic.org/content.asp?contentid=57). This is a fascinating topic I hope to learn more about. And are you willing to move to practice?

  2. I totally agree with your post. As some one who moved from being a smoking, drinking, junk food and caffeine addict to a vegetarian bordering on vegan. I have noticed how changing my diet has had dramatic effects on me physically, mentally, and emotionally.
